Franklin Foundation Annual Gala 2024

Franklin Foundation Hosted Annual Gala and Premiere of Documentary “Meeting in the Aegean” on December 15, 2024, marking a night of philanthropy, art, and inspiration. The event, attended by over 230 distinguished guests, including government officials, renowned entrepreneurs, and community leaders, also featured the highly anticipated premiere of the documentary “Meeting in the Aegean”, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Qu Jianping. ​

Congresswoman Judy Chu (4th from right) attended the Gala and presented awards to the organizers and co-organizers. Brian Yan (2nd from left), founder of Highlight International Art Center Foundation, was one of the co-organizers of the gala and accepted the award.

The documentary, which highlights the lives and experiences of children and teenagers with autism, received widespread acclaim for its heartfelt storytelling and powerful message. Guests praised the film for shedding light on the challenges faced by autism families and fostering greater understanding and compassion.

Highlight International Art Center was honored to participate in this prestigious event, contributing to the evening’s success by donating two exceptional artworks—a calligraphy piece and a painting—created by talented artists. These pieces were showcased during the live auction, with the art center’s team providing full support to ensure a seamless and engaging auction experience. The artworks captivated the audience, drawing generous bids from the esteemed attendees.  â€‹â€‹

Adding to the gala’s allure were the captivating performances by Brian Yan, Cheng Ma, and Claire Yuan, whose talents brought an extra layer of elegance and entertainment to the evening.

Highlight International Art Center raised $2,200  at the gala. The proceeds were donated to the Franklin Foundation to support families affected by autism, furthering the foundation’s mission to create a more inclusive and supportive community.  â€‹

​Highlight International Art Center expressed pride in being part of such a meaningful event. “Art has the power to inspire, change and bring people together,” said a representative. “We are thrilled to contribute to the Franklin Foundation’s efforts and support their vital work.”
